This Privacy Policy explains how TDR SciTech LLC ("TDR SciTech", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit tdrscitech.com (the "Website") or use our mobile applications (the "Apps").
In short: we collect only the information needed to provide our products and services. We do not sell your personal information, we do not show third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Usage analytics in our Apps are off unless you turn them on.
1. Who we are
TDR SciTech LLC is an Iowa limited liability company based in Des Moines, Iowa, USA. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at info@tdrscitech.com.
2. Our Website
The Website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or third-party scripts.
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs when you visit, including your IP address, the date and time of your request, the page requested, your browser type, and the referring page. These logs are used only to operate and secure the Website and are kept for a limited period.
If you email us, we use your email address and the contents of your message to respond to you.
3. Information our Apps collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored only in a securely hashed form, never in readable form.
Vehicle data
When you connect an App to a vehicle, the App reads data from the vehicle, such as the vehicle identification number (VIN), diagnostic trouble codes (fault codes), and sensor readings, along with vehicle details you enter, such as make, model, and year. This data is stored with your account on our servers so that we can provide App features, such as your diagnostic history, and make it available on your devices.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions in our Apps are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation of what you purchased and the status of any subscription. We do not receive your payment card details or billing address.
Usage analytics (optional)
Only if you choose to turn it on, the App collects information about how you use it, such as the screens and features you use, whether connections to vehicle adapters succeed, your App version, your device model, and your operating system version. We use this information only to understand and improve our Apps. You can turn usage analytics off at any time in the App's settings.
Crash reports
If you allow it, through the App's settings or your device's "Share With App Developers" setting, we receive crash reports and related technical information, such as the App version, device model, and operating system version. We use crash reports only to find and fix problems.
Device permissions
The Apps ask for permission to use Bluetooth and to access your local network. These permissions are used only to communicate with OBD-II Bluetooth Low Energy adapters and ENET cables connected to your vehicle. The Apps do not collect your precise location.
Support communications
If you contact us for support, we collect the information you provide, such as your email address and a description of your issue, to respond to you.
4. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Apps and your account
- Store and display your vehicle data and diagnostic history
- Provide access to features you have purchased
- Understand and improve the Apps, using optional usage analytics and crash reports
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you about your account
- Protect the security of our services and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for advertising, and we will not use information collected for one purpose for an unrelated purpose without your consent, unless permitted by law.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or for tracking you across other companies' apps or websites. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers. We use service providers to host our servers and databases, deliver email, and process usage analytics and crash reports. They may access personal information only to perform services for us, and they are required to protect it with the same or equal protection as described in this policy.
- Apple. Apple processes purchases made in our Apps under Apple's own privacy policy.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of TDR SciTech, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If TDR SciTech is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction and will remain subject to the protections of this policy.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your account information and vehicle data for as long as your account is active.
You can delete your account at any time from within the App's account settings, or by emailing info@tdrscitech.com from the email address associated with your account. When you delete your account, we delete your account information and vehicle data from our active systems within 30 days, and from our backups within 90 days, except where we are required by law to keep certain information.
Usage analytics and crash reports are kept only as long as needed to improve the Apps, and no longer than 24 months.
Server logs for the Website are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security and operational purposes.
7. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Access, correct, or request a copy of your personal information
- Delete your account and personal information, as described above
- Withdraw your consent to usage analytics or crash reporting at any time in the App's settings or your device's settings; withdrawing consent does not affect information collected before you withdrew it
- Turn off Bluetooth or local network access for the App in your device's Settings app, although the App will then be unable to communicate with your vehicle
To make a request, email info@tdrscitech.com from the email address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Depending on where you live, such as in Iowa, California, other U.S. states, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under local law. We honor those rights and will not discriminate against you for exercising them. If we decline your request, you may appeal our decision by replying to our response.
8. Security
We protect personal information with reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption of data in transit and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
Our Website and Apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International users
TDR SciTech is based in the United States, and we process and store information in the United States. If you use our Apps from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date above. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the App or by email before the changes take effect.
